  • Project Manager, Aboriginal Sport & Youth, for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC)

  • Trustee for the BC Sports Hall of Fame & Museum

  • Team BC NAIG Athlete at the 1995, 1997 and 2002 in Athletics
  • Team BC Coach for Athletics at the 2006 and 2008 NAIG
  • Team BC Mission Staff member at the 2006 and 2014 NAIG
  • Collegiate Athlete for Red Deer College from 1999 – 2001 in Cross Country Running and Cross Country Skiing
  • Kamloops Track and Field Club from 1997 – 2002
  • Played hockey from the age of 5
  • Played Basketball, Volleyball and Softball in high school
  • Member of the Kamloops Sr. Rattlers Lacrosse Team
  • Certified / Trained coach in Hockey, Lacrosse, Softball, Basketball, & Athletics

  • Advanced Logistics Coordinator for BC 150 (2008 NAIG)
  • Fraser Region Lead 2009 – 2011
  • Fraser Region Coordinator 2012 – 2016
  • Mission Staff – Operations NAIG 2014
  • Community Coach for archery and rifle shooting
  • Personally returned to marathon running after 30 years, completing distances from 10km to ½ marathon races

Position: Team BC Coordinator

Background in Sports:

  • Provincial Championships title with Eric Hamber Secondary School
  • Competed at 3 Canadian Jr Badminton Nationals
  • Silver and bronze medalist with BC Winter Games
  • Scholarships athlete at Langara College, competing on the Falcon Badminton team
  • 2008 NAIG medalist;  gold WD, silver MD and bronze WS
  • Volunteers in Aboriginal communities recreation departments to introduce the sport of badminton to children
  • Alissa remains active by cycling, playing beach volleyball, softball, golfing and snowboarding.
  • Future goal is to train and participate at the Canadian Transplant Games in 2018
