The 2016 BC Aboriginal Provincial Golf Championships served as the primary selection event to identify Team BC golfers for the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) held in Toronto, Ontario from July 16-23, 2017.

The Talking Rock Golf Course & Quaaout Lodge, owned by the Little Shuswap Band, hosted the 2016 Championships on August 7– 9, 2016. Team BC Head Coach Frank Antoine attended the Championships in order to evaluate the athletes during practice and competitive play as well as to observe the players’ strategies, ability to handle pressure, skill set, and techniques. Following the Golf Championships, athletes were appointed to Team BC’s development team.

17U and 19U female golf teams are now recruiting female golf athletes to attend an open athlete evaluation camp to identify new players to join Team BC. The deadline to register is May 5, 2017.
