Team BC Seeks Female Soccer Goalkeepers for 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG)

Team BC seeking 16U and 19U female goalkeepers to attend evaluation camp for 2017 NAIG

The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council of BC (I·SPARC), formerly the Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council, oversees the Team BC Program for the North American Indigenous Games. I·SPARC and our Team BC coaches are seeking female (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) soccer goalkeepers born 1998 through 2003 to attend an open athlete evaluation camp where Team BC coaches will identify new goalkeepers to join Team BC.

The NAIG qualifying event for soccer for Team BC was the 2016 BC Aboriginal Provincial Soccer Championships, which concluded in August of 2016. Regional soccer teams competed for the Provincial Championship title and the right to represent Team BC at the 2017 NAIG. The 16U and 19U divisions were both won by the Fraser Region teams. Coincidentally, both our 16U and 19U Team BC female teams have lost their goalkeepers this winter due to injury or withdrawal.

Team BC’s 19U female squad (born 1998 or later) will identify a minimum of one goalkeeper and Team BC’s 16U (born 2001 or later) will identify one goalkeeper. Athletes interested in this opportunity please find evaluation details below. There is no fee to participate and pre-registration is required.
