Are you interested or involved in canoe racing?  Do you self-identify as First Nation, Metis or Inuit, or work in the Indigenous community? Are you at least sixteen years old?

Sign up today to begin your journey as a canoe racing official! Participants will learn the basics of running a sprint regatta based on Canoe Kayak Canada’s (CKC) standards and international protocols for the Sport of Sprint Canoe Kayak. Participants will learn the different roles for Officials at Local competitions such as: Race Starter, Finish Line Judge, Safety Boat Operator, Race Referees, Safety Spotters, Whipper-In, Competition Secretary and Results Writer.  This course is free for members of the Indigenous community as it is funded by the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council and will be hosted by CanoeKayak BC and Seabird Island Band.
