The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council – Fraser Region – is pleased to present the first “Language and Sport Camp: Nlaka’pamux and Basketball!” This will be a Basketball development camp for Indigenous youth (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) as well as an introduction to parts of the Nlaka’pamxcin language. You will learn words in the traditional language of the territory (like ‘Run’ ‘Jump’ ‘Pass’ Shoot’ ‘Move’ ‘Play’ and ‘Compete’) while at the same time enjoying a high-level basketball camp! This will be hosted in partnership with the Siska Indian Band and Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly.

This development camp is open to youth ages 6-18 and will introduce the sport of basketball for both beginners and advanced athletes. The camp will be facilitated by Coach Cory Breland and members of the Siska Indian Band.

The camp will take place on the traditional territory of the Nlaka’pamux people and will be held at the following venue:

All equipment will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes. Snacks will be provided, but please bring your own water bottle.
