Northwest Region Soccer Registration

The Northwest Region Soccer Committee of the Indigenous Sport, Recreation & Physical Activity Council is pleased to announce the Northwest Regional Soccer Team ID Camp will take place Sunday May 5th AND 26th in Hazelton BC.

Northwest Regional Teams will compete in the U15 and U18 (male and female) divisions at the 2019 BC Aboriginal Provincial Soccer Championships, August 23-25, 2019 in Terrace, BC.

Regional Teams in the male and female U15 and U18 divisions that win the Provincial Championships will earn the right to represent Team BC at the Halifax 2020 North American Indigenous Games!

  • BC INDIGENOUS PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & REGIONAL SELECTION CAMPS OVERVIEW The series of BC Indigenous Provincial Championships and Camps are an important component of ISPARCs Provincial Strategy as they support the effort to develop a consistent and coordinated Indigenous Team BC program to better prepare athletes and coaches for upcoming North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and other elite competitions.

    The 2019 BC Aboriginal Provincial Soccer Championships will serve as the Team BC Selection Event whereby the winning teams of the U15 and U18 divisions will earn the right to represent BC at the Halifax 2020 North American Indigenous Games. Accordingly, only eligible teams (“Regional Teams”) formed by the Regional Committees & Regional Coaches are permitted entry into the U15 and U18 divisions of the Provincial Championships (which qualify as U16 and U19, respectively, in the year 2020 at NAIG).

    U18 – born in 2001, 2002 or 2003
    U15 – born in 2004 – 2005
  • THE NORTH AMERICAN INDIGENOUS GAMES (NAIG) The Halifax 2020 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) will take place in Halifax July 2020. A multi-sport event for Aboriginal youth ages 13 to 19 from across North America held every three years, the NAIG celebrates sport excellence, youth, volunteerism, and Indigenous culture through a showcase of youth excellence in sport, language, tradition, art, song and ceremony. Teams come from the 13 Canadian provinces and territories and 13 regions from the United States to compete in 15 different sports. More information regarding NAIG can be found at www.naigcouncil.com

    ISPARC is the recognized Aboriginal Sport body that oversees the operations of Team BC for NAIG. Team BC will include approximately 500 athletes and coaches participating in 13 sports. Team BC is led and managed by a Chef de Mission and Mission Staff, whose main responsibility will be to oversee team operations and logistics.
  • Northwest Region Soccer Registration Form 2019 The Northwest Region Soccer Committee of ISPARC is pleased to announce the Northwest Regional ID Camps will take place June 1st & 2nd in Hazelton. The Northwest Region Teams will compete in the U15 and U18 (male and female) age divisions at the 2019 BC Indigenous Provincial Soccer Championships, August 23-25, 2019 hosted this year, in Terrace, BC.

    Regional Teams in the U15 and U19 divisions (male and female) of the BC Aboriginal Provincial Soccer Championships will be vying for the Championship title to ultimately earn the right to represent Team BC at the Halifax 2020 North American Indigenous Games!

    Our volunteer coaches and team managers will evaluate athletes at the ID Camp, notify athletes for team selection after the ID Camp, prepare & lead their Regional team into the Provincial Championships.
