NATHANIEL STUIT OF ATHLETICS BREAKS 52 SECONDS IN THE 400M
Today we wanted to highlight a story of Nathaniel Stuit (Nahanni Butte Dene Band) from Victoria shared by Athletics Assistant Coach, Skylar Bown. “Today Nathaniel left it all on the track. He’s been training consistently for years and has been dreaming of breaking 52 seconds in the 400m. He passed his competitors in the final 150m, running a time of 51.89.

It’s been 11 months since he’s seen his mom and she was able to be there in the stands cheering him on. On top of that, his grandfather, who celebrated his 80th birthday yesterday, was at Beazley Fields watching his grandson fulfill his largest goals. Everyone in the crowd could sense Nathaniel’s passion in his win. We are so proud of him!”

All athletes pushed through today and worked hard despite the rainy and misty conditions to accomplish many personal bests and top 8 finishes. Kendra Sampson of Lax Kw’alaams took home the bronze medal in the 16U female discus, James Woelders (Métis Nation British Columbia) from Aldergrove got the silver medal in 14U javelin (with a 10m personal best).
