I·SPARC is now accepting applications from qualified Indigenous hockey coaches to join the Team BC volunteer coaching staff for the 2026 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC).
These championships are an annual event that provides a forum for elite Indigenous hockey players from across Canada, featuring both men’s and women’s competitions. As a national championship established by the Aboriginal Sport Circle and sanctioned by Hockey Canada, the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships showcases under-18 First Nation, Inuit, and Métis hockey players competing for the Turtle Island Cup in separate competitions. The National Aboriginal Hockey Championships is a unique national event that fosters cultural unity and pride.
Available roles include (Men’s & Women’s Teams):
- Head Coach (1)
- Assistant Coaches (2)
- Manager (1)
- Trainer (1)
The commitment for these roles include:
- Team BC Selection Camp – a weekend camp in late March/early April 2026 (date & location TBC)
- 2026 NAHC – May 3–9, 2026, in Regina, Saskatchewan (anticipated travel May 1 & May 10)
