Lead by the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreational Council of BC (I∙SPARC). This series of sessions led by I∙SPARC facilitators and Knowledge Keepers will provide Indigenous Cultural Safety Training with through the lens of sport, physical activity, and recreation. This training and team-building opportunity will increase confidence and competence when building relationships with Indigenous People. This professional development training is highly recommended and includes four phases (both online and in-person): please see details in the Professional Development Schedule below. Participants should set aside approximately 18-20 hours for this learning experience and expect to participate in all four phases.

This foundational learning opportunity provides an understanding of the historical and current realities of Indigenous Peoples as well as our roles in creating a braver and inclusive future for all. This course consists of 48 lessons.

Topic: Debrief and Reflection I∙SPARC
I∙SPARC is a provincial organization focused on improving the health outcomes of Indigenous peoples by supporting and encouraging physical activity and wellness among individuals, families, and communities. The programs and services delivered by I·SPARC are designed to build capacity and increase access to sport, recreation, and physical activity in First Nations communities, Métis Chartered Communities, Aboriginal Friendship Centers, schools, and other delivery agencies throughout the province.
