Introduction to Physical Literacy
Online request form for a Sport for Life, E-learning Introduction to Physical Literacy. ISPARC will be covering the workshop associated fee during the month of November for participants in BC.
This course introduces the concept of physical literacy, provides information about how we learn to move, and identifies the key elements of a supportive physical literacy environment.
Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:
Explain the concept of physical literacy
Describe the relationship between physical literacy, physical activity, and physical fitness
Identify the general course of motor skill (movement) development in childhood and the approximate age of adult proficiency
Describe the relationship between the development of movement competence, confidence, and motivation, in support of physical literacy development
Identify key elements of a supportive physical literacy environment
Recognize that physical literacy activities must be accessible and inclusive
Describe and diagram a physical literacy life journey
When you have completed the entire course and passed each learning assessment, you will be able to download/print a Certificate of Completion and for coaches maintaining their certification, obtain NCCP professional development points towards it.
