Designed to bring together community leaders and individuals who are passionate about supporting health and wellness, I∙SPARC delivers a series of annual regionally-based Healthy Living Leader Training Sessions.
Workshops offered at the sessions combine leader training for both the Indigenous RunWalkWheel and the Honour Your Health Challenge programs. The sessions are designed to build leadership capacity within Indigenous communities and promote healthy living in key areas such as, but not limited to: physical activity, healthy eating, respecting tobacco, and healthy communities. At the conclusion of the two-day Leader Training Sessions, participants will be eligible to apply for a grant of up to $1,000 to support the delivery of an Indigenous RunWalkWheel program or to create a Healthy Living project as part of the Honour Your Health Challenge.
Additionally, all trained Leaders have the opportunity to apply for the HealthBeat program. HealthBeat gives Leaders and community a before and after snapshot of the benefits of physical activity gained through these Healthy Living programs and can be an excellent motivator for participants.
