Victoria, BC (July 12, 2021) – Following the postponement of the Halifax 2020 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, today the NAIG Council and the Halifax NAIG Host Society announced that the next Games are confirmed to take place July 15 to 23, 2023 in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) and Millbrook First Nation, Nova Scotia. Nominations open for National Indigenous Coaching Awards

The nomination period for the National Indigenous Coaching Award (NICA) is now open. NICA was relaunched in 2019 by the Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) to recognize Indigenous coaches for their outstanding contributidons to sport in Canada. The ASC, in collaboration with the Coaching Association of Canada, established the NICA to recognize the impact Indigenous coaches have made on sport development, from the community level all the way to elite competition.
