Team BC Women Capture Silver Medal
Kamloops, BC – Team BC Women had a historic performance at the 2025 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC), capturing the Silver Medal—the best finish in the history of the women’s program since the tournament began in 2002.
The championship final was a tightly contested match between BC and Manitoba, with Manitoba ultimately claiming the Turtle Island Cup in a 2–0 victory. Both goaltenders delivered outstanding performances in this low-scoring game, but BC was unable to solve Manitoba’s netminder. Jaylah Bottle was named BC’s Player of the Game for her strong defensive play in the final.
Team BC Women finished the tournament with a record of 3 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie—a result that builds strong momentum for the future of the program. A special thank-you goes out to the graduating players, many of whom have been a part of the program for three to four years. Best wishes in your future hockey journeys!

Tournament Capital for a Reason!
Kamloops and T’kemlúps te Secwépemc once again demonstrated why the region is known as Canada’s Tournament Capital.
The opening ceremonies featured a spectacular celebration of Indigenous culture, with a live show that set the tone for the week. The closing ceremonies were equally memorable, including team dinners and traditional Indigenous games that brought the event to a fitting close.
Thank you to the entire organizing committee—including the Kamloops Sports Council, Tourism Kamloops, and all tournament sponsors—for delivering a top-tier event.
