The Host Application Process is for First Nations, Métis Chartered Communities, Friendship Centres, and other Indigenous organizations to apply to host event(s) within the 2019/20 series of BC Indigenous Provincial Championships and Athlete Development Camps.
Successful community hosts will be awarded a Hosting Grant to help offset the majority of the event operating costs. The Championships and Development Camps are to be held primarily in the Summer/Fall of 2019 in a variety of communities across British Columbia.
These events have been strategically established to support Indigenous athlete and coach development in sports featured in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG). With the Halifax 2020 NAIG approaching, the series of 2019/20 BC Aboriginal Provincial Championships & Camps will be a primary component of the Team BC Talent Identification and/or Selection Processes for athletes to represent Team BC at the Halifax 2020 NAIG.
Information regarding the specific details of the Team BC Selection processes for each sport will be released in spring of 2019.
