In May 2020, I·SPARC incorporated under the leadership of an inaugural Board of Directors that was responsible for implementing the organization’s new governance framework and established operational policies and procedures, while supporting the transition out of its host-agency relationship with BCAAFC. These objectives were met successfully, which completed their nine-month term.

Call for Nominations: I·SPARC Board of Directors, Fall 2026

As a volunteer-directed society, the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) is seeking two individuals who possess a range of business skill sets to serve on its Board. These are new positions resulting from recent amendments to the Society’s composition of directors, approved at the Annual General Meeting held on August 13, 2026. These Director-at-Large positions have replaced the representation previously provided by the Regional Action Teams.

Applicants should reflect the values and priorities of the organization and be responsive to our mission: to build programs and services that positively impact the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals, families, and communities throughout British Columbia.

Applications will be reviewed by I·SPARC’s Nominating Committee, with recommendations to be presented to I·SPARC’s membership at an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held in December.
