We are thrilled to announce that the 19U male soccer team has won the gold medal in their match against Manitoba! We congratulate Max Joe, Billy August, Dallas Nelson and Kamryn Pierre for scoring the four winning goals. Coach Chris Daniels said the “1st half was a good back and forth battle, then the 2nd half started with Team BC taking the momentum at the start, but 4.5 minutes in we got delayed with thunder. Once the game started back up, Team BC took control and scored the game’s first goal, 5 minutes later we took a 2-0 lead. Later, Team BC had a lot more room to completely control the game. scoring 2 more goals to finish with a 4-0 victory”
Congratulations to the 16U female soccer team on their victory! Winning a match 2-1, “the girls battled hard, they went in strong and came out on top,” said Coach Leslie Robinson. This week the strategy was “Player insight is key for success.” Congratulations 16UF squad, now we go for gold!

LAST DAY OF RIFLE BRINGS IN THE HARDWARE

LACROSSE PREPARES FOR GOLD MEDAL MATCHES TOMORROW
It was a rest day for lacrosse as they prepare for their gold matches tomorrow. The female team took the opportunity to explore Halifax’s Peggy’s cove and they might have gotten caught in some less than ideal weather! Don’t forgot to check out the schedule to watch our gold medal games tomorrow!
BADMINTON WINS SILVER MEDAL
Congratulations to Kate Edgar (Ditidaht First Nation) of Port Alberni on her final medalist game badminton game against a tough competitor from Nunavut. The scores were 21-14 and 21-9 for Nunavut. Well done to all the badminton athletes! We are proud of you!
Kate said that “participating in sport has always been something I have enjoyed, and to get this far competitively in something I love has turned out to be absolutely phenomenal! All you really need to get to NAIG is a love for your sport, and I would recommend it to anyone!” Congratulations to our Badminton athletes, and thank you to our Coaches.
BASKETBALL IN SEARCH OF MEDALS
In an intense and nail-biting match, our 14U male basketball team lost by just one point in their semi-final game, but the journey isn’t over yet! They have fought their way to the bronze medal game, and we couldn’t be prouder of their determination and tenacity on the court.
There were early games for both the 16U teams today! With a valiant effort from both teams! The 16U male team kept it close with a loss of 64 to 73 and play for bronze tomorrow at 11am (AST) against Eastern Door and The North. The 16U female team put up a great fight, but lost to Wisconsin, and will be playing for Bronze at 9am (AST) tomorrow !
The 19U male and female teams worked hard but unfortunately came up short, and will also be playing for bronze tomorrow! The Male team plays at 11am (AST) and the female team at 9am (AST)! Go Team BC!
VOLLEYBALL TEAMS FINISH STRONG
It was a hard fought battle in the quarter finals for our 16U female volleyball team. Team Wisconsin took three out of five sets, but our girls showed outstanding fortitude earning every single point and truly making Wisconsin put in the work to move onto the Semi Finals. Big congratulations to all our Team BC Volleyball teams, everyone played with amazing heart and embodied the BC spirit. Thank you to our Volleyball coaches for their hardwork and dedication to coaching our athletes.
RAINY DAY OF SOFTBALL
Busy day of softball in the rain! The 16U female team began their bronze medal game against Sask, but unfortunately, it was forced to stop due to the massive storm. The 19U females played in the semifinals against Manitoba and, unfortunately, lost 6-4. The 19U male team had a close game against Team Alberta and ultimately came out on top with a score of 2-1.
The 16U male team had two games today. The first game against Team Saskatchewan ended with a win of 7-0. During their second game of the day against Ontario, Team BC played their hearts out but lost 12-5.

SILVER MEDAL IN CROSS COUNTRY
Today, Team BC competed in cross country at Point Pleasant Park! “Jimmy Reed from Vanderhoof (Red Pheasant) ran an impressive silver medal in the 10:15.00 3km cross country race. Following his race, I witnessed his incredible character as a big brother to Tommy Reed, as he ran the 2km cross country race” said Assistant Coach Skylar Bown. Congrats to Jimmy for his silver medal and thank you to our Athletics Coaching staff!
GOLD MEDAL FOR 3D ARCHERY
What a great final day for 3D Archery! Cikqwlx Hall-Andrew of Osoyoos Indian Band in the 16U Male Barebow won GOLD! Cikqwilx broke out in song on the podium. He mentioned that the song came to him as he was competing. His song then inspired the silver medal athlete from New Mexico to also share a song on the podium. ‘We are immensely proud of all of the team and how far they have come,’ said Coaches David Sandquist and Bernice Gordon.
