Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS), working in collaboration with the Government of Canada’s Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH) and the Standing Working Group for Indigenous Sport Development (SWGISD), has been retained to develop a strategy to increase Indigenous participation in the Canada Games.

The results of this survey will be used as an avenue to gather individual input from:
  • First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who currently participate or have participated in competitive sports as an athlete, official, coach or teams support personnel (trainer, manager, etc.);
  • Members of local, regional, provincial and national sports bodies, including sport specific organizations, Indigenous or non-Indigenous that wish to provide direct input into strategies to increase participation of Indigenous Peoples of Canada in the Canada Games;
  • Indigenous People who share culture, experiences and history at local, regional, provincial and national events (sporting or other) in an educational, ceremonial or entertaining capacity (i.e. traditional dancer at opening ceremony, etc.)
  • Indigenous companies and economic development organizations/professionals that believe there are sustainable financial mechanisms to support Indigenous Peoples participation in the Canada Games
