I·SPARC in partnership with PacificSport Okanagan and PacificSport Vancouver Island are pleased to present this free Mental Performance Webinar Series for coaches and athletes! These online webinars feature Sport Psychology experts who will share their strategies on how to build resiliency, maintain motivation, and manage intensity and focus for peak performance.

Like every sector being affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, we are experiencing a drastic change in the sport world. We have seen the postponement or cancellation of sport programs and events, and there remains high levels of uncertainty about returning to sport and play. As a coach, you know the profound impact this has placed on you as a coach, and on our Indigenous youth athletes.

This webinar will provide an opportunity for coaches to gain tools, resources and supports to build resiliency and coping mechanisms in your athletes. It will also seek to help you to provide support to your athletes with managing these stressful situations in the midst of this challenging and uncertain time, while ensuring that you are taking care of yourself.

Like every sector being affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, we are experiencing a drastic change in the sport world. We have seen the postponement or cancellation of sport programs and events, and there remains high levels of uncertainty about returning to sport and play. As an Indigenous youth athlete, you know how much sport means to you – and how tough it has been having so many of your plans postponed or cancelled.

This webinar will provide an opportunity for athletes to understand more about how to maintain motivation and to build coping strategies and perspectives during these challenging times. There are many limitations during this time of uncertainty: but there is also opportunity.

Most athletes can recall a past performance they played a great game. They were focused and engaged, enjoyed the moment, and felt very connected with their role in the game. The outcome may have been positive, but regardless of the final result, the athlete walked away feeling proud of how they played. But how did they get to that place, and how can they get there for the next game?

This webinar will provide athletes with information on how their intensity levels effect their performance, explain how intensity can impact an athlete’s focus, and provide strategies for athletes to manage their intensity levels and perform to their potential.
