New updates on the BC Restart Plan for activities
The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) has compiled these guidelines based on recommendations published by provincial and municipal Health Authorities, as well as provincial sport and recreation organizations. They are the currently understood best practices at time of publication and were approved by I·SPARC’s Board of Director's. Nominations open for National Indigenous Coaching Awards
The nomination period for the National Indigenous Coaching Award (NICA) is now open. NICA was relaunched in 2019 by the Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) to recognize Indigenous coaches for their outstanding contributidons to sport in Canada. The ASC, in collaboration with the Coaching Association of Canada, established the NICA to recognize the impact Indigenous coaches have made on sport development, from the community level all the way to elite competition. (April 15, 2021) - A unique project to educate Indigenous children and youth about cultural activities, while also encouraging physical activity, has launched through a photography contest.
